Inspiron 1720 Keyboard
Replacing a laptop keyboard?
I keep seeing on the internet how "easy" it is to replace the keyboard on your lap top. I need to either replace mine or at least replace multiple keys on it. I am hesitant, though, because I'm afraid that it will end up being a much harder task than I anticipate.
I'm def not a technology person and not exactly handy either... but I am dirt broke, and typing multiple letters just on the rubber thing is making all my essays (college student. oh boy) that much more difficult to type.
Anyone out there have suggestions for me? Should I buy a full keyboard and then just try to replace the individual keys? (i do know about that at least... its the plastic retainer part that broke on the keys that I no longer have) or will it be simple enough to just remove and install the new keyboard?
if it matters... i have an inspiron 1720.

Don't worry so much, just make sure you touch something that is grounded before you begin to discharge any static electricity on your body. Don't force anything, if it isn't coming out, slow down, figure out why. Be careful with the ribbon under the keyboard which attaches it. Use your own common sense while doing it and you'll be fine.
I wouldn't try to replace the keys individually, if one breaks you gotta buy a whole other keyboard again.
