Media Gaming
Will this do it? Media, and Gaming Mainly?
to buy for a little bit of gaming, and media use. I was wondering everyone's opinions on the system and if it should meet my needs, or if anything is lacking that I should possibly take a second look at.
Additional Details
Why does it seem underpowered? 2ghz, 2gb of RAM, a 256 video card? Just trying to find the best combination of RAM, video card and processor for some gaming and media use.
OKay I finnally found one...
XPS M1210 Notebook: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5600 (1.83GHz/667MHz/2MB)
120gb HD, 256 Video Card, 2gb of RAM and all under $1300 with next day shipping.
A 2ghz cpu with 2gb of RAM and a 256 mb video card should let you play just about any game.
However I can't be sure because you weren't very specific, a 2ghz cpu could be low end, a single core low FSB and cache, or it could be amazing if it was a duel core, high FSB and cache.
2gb of any ram would be good realy, that doesn't vary much, although DDR2 would be great.
The video card however, could be anything from a 3 yeard old piece of crap, or a pretty amazing card. You should check the number of pixel pipelines on the card, it'd say 12 or something would be a decent mid to hi level card. Also check the memory bandwidth, the more the better I can't think of a good number right now. It can also depend on the GPU speed and bus speed, the higher the better. Just be sure to compair all the aspects of the card, because a graphics card is more or less a second computer just for graphics, and it's pretty much just as complicated as the rest of your computer.
