Accidental damage at work - Do I have to pay for replacement / repair?
If an employee accidentally damages company property, In my case a rather expensive vanity unit, Is the cost for a replacement down to the employee or employer? I'm in this situation right now and being asked to pay £600 to cover the cost of a replacement item - Has my employer the right to do this?
It all depends on your employers policy.
I have heard of employers that require the employee to replace property they damage.
