Computer Keyboards For Sale

Does anyone know where I can find directions for changing the keyboard on a gateway t-series laptop?

Our daughter pulled the keys off the laptop, bought a new keyboard but it didn't come with directions on how to change it. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi there

with most laptops there is a panel or strip that runs a long the top (most common), bottom (less common) or occasionally either side of the keyboard (rare)

remove the panel/s by sliding a flat screwdriver between the edge of the keyboard and where the panel is (in most cases there is depressions along the keyboard to help to do this) prizing the panel up very carefully along the length of the panel/strip then remove this panel/strip from where it is located

Now the keyboard will be held down with screws remove the screws and put them to one side carefully, the keyboard will either need to be slid towards where the panel/strip to allow it to be removed or it will just come straight up - WARNING do not remove the keyboard straight away it is still connected to the motherboard excessive pulling may damage the socket, carefully pull keyboard back and then remove any tape holding the cable in place and then unplug the keyboard from its socket

reassembly is the same in reverse
