How do I make the print screen button on my keyboard print the screen?
In order to use the 'Print Scrn' button on your keyboard, you have a couple of choices of what you can do.
If you want to capture the entire screen that you see on your monitor, hold down the SHIFT key and press PRINT SCRN. This copies the image to the clipboard.
Open up a program where you can insert images, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Paint, or any other imaging program. Click EDIT > PASTE. This will paste the image in to the program.
If you want to just capture the active window only, click on the window that you want a image capture of, and then hold down both CTRL and ALT at the same time, and then press the PRINT SCRN button. This will capture only the active window. Again, simply paste it in to your favorite image-capable program.
You can then print your screen-capture from within your imaging program
