Is a 2-pin portable power dangerous?

My laptop Toshiba Tecra A8 came with a pin power cable 2. I use it in the United Kingdom, and swapped the cable pin 2 to 3-pin cable. Now my sound card makes a very loud ground loop snoring, so I wanted to return to the original 2-pin cable. Is this dangerous? Do I have a greater chance of getting a shock? I need buy a surge protector? Thank you!

If the original power of Toshiba is 2-pin then you should be able to use safely. If the power supply is not the original part that came with your laptop, you should check with the manufacturer. The fact that you sound card is making a strange noise, it is because the third component is probably a "grounded" in the United Kingdom and may have some residual voltage on which interferes with the work of the sound card. I would check to see if the outlet you are using is properly connected - it could still work, even if incorrectly wired. So does the power adapter has a receptacle for 3 or 2 pin cable. All the maps I seen are 2 or 3 pins and a pin 3 can not take a cable with 2 pins or vice versa. For AC adapter that I mean the "brick" - a side it has the cable that goes to the laptop and the other side is the detachable cable that can be exchanged depending on where you are Good Good luck!
