cable to hook up printer w a parallel port to a pc with usb connection?
I have an old HP Laser-jet 3100 all in one printer. It has the old parallel port though which no new computers have anymore. I've been searching for an adapter that w convert the parallel port to a usb connection. All the ones I have found have the wrong size parallel port, too big. This is a small connector.
Sounds like you have a mini-centronics parallel port on the printer. There is no USB to Mini-centronics cable made for that. What you can do instead is get one of the standard USB to Centronics parallel cables that you've already found, then buy a centronics to mini-centronics adapter to make it all work.
