HP Mouse not responding problem?
I have a HP desktop PC running windows vista and my mouse has stopped working. There is still power to the mouse as the optic is still working but none of the buttons or the scroll bar work and so I have being forced to use the numeric keypad as my mouse. I have enabled and disabled the mouse and have un-installed the driver but now I cannot re-install the driver as my PC does not recognise the mouse.
Please note: It is not a USB mouse.
Have you downloaded any drivers recently from the Windows site? the most recent one was for a touchscreen which mainly messes up the PS/2 driver so that anything connected to it won't work, people have reported their mouse no longer works after installing. If so then you can either use system restore or google IdeaCom Technology Inc. - Input - IdeaCom HID Touch Screen (PS/2) which is the offending driver & that should give you details of how to remove it.
