Wireless Entertainment
Wireless revolution has concentrated on entertainment Can't they apply it more for tedious chores?
There has been a spawning industry of mobile phones cameras and FM radio with them. Then we have i-Pods which most people fancy and buy and throw it into the attic. Real serious working people appreciate SMS but it is mostly used by youngsters as a way of spending time which s euphemistically called networking. Why can't the companies engaged in the application of wireless invest more for lightening the tedious tasks of everyday life by making gadgets to converse with each other, to reduce energy consumption, remove the drudgery of labour consuming chores etc.?
My cell phone runs Windows 5. I run applications like IE, Word & Excel.
I also use a 3270 emulator. That's an application that allows me to use my cell phone to communicate with mainframes (I'm a legacy re-engineering software developer. So that's really useful).
Then there's lots of other business technology out there I can also use, that I won't bore you with right now.
P.S. As I travel quite a bit, I also use an application called WorldMate Pro & that's excellent
