How do I set up a wireless network in my house?
I want to set up a wireless network in my house so that way I can access files and folds on my moms computer and her and my sister can access files on both my computer and my laptop? Do I need to buy anything else besides all the wireless network card the come in the computers?
We already have working wireless internet so we don't have to set that up just the network.
Since you already have a network working, you don't need anything else. And file sharing (and printer sharing for that matter) is no different whether the connection is wired or wireless.
In "My Computer", navigate to the folder you want to share. Right-click on it and select "Properties". Go to the Sharing tab, select that you want to enable sharing, and give the share a name (it defaults to the folder name) and, if you want, a description. By default, other computers will only have read access - they won't be able to add files or change files. Go to the security settings in the sharing dialog to enable write access.
